Certificate of Higher Education in Biblical Studies and Ministry

The Cert HE in Biblical Studies and Ministry is similar to the Theology and Biblical Studies course but is more applied in nature, equipping students with the skills needed to serve in a local church and beyond. The course comprises 6 modules:

There are 3 compulsory modules:

• Gospel of Mark (New Testament 1)
• The Pentateuch (Old Testament 1)
• Mission and Ministry

And students also complete 3 out of the following 7 optional modules. At least one module must be taken from Group B:

Group A - Biblical Studies and Theology Modules

• Apologetics
• Doctrine of God
• Romans

Group B - Ministry Modules

• Administration
• Pastoral Care
• Preaching
• Youth and Children's Work

Each 12 week module requires approximately 10-12 hours of study per week and is assessed by a range of methods including essays, exams, case studies and book reviews.

The Cert HE programme costs just over £1,000. There is a university registration fee of £525 payable at the start of your course. Each module then costs £99 (reduced rates available for those on low incomes).
