Assignments
From September 2010, it is possible to submit coursework for each module instead of sitting an exam. This option might be right for you if you find the pressure of exams unhelpful or if your lifestyle means that it would be useful to pace your assessment over several weeks.
For each module you will be asked to:
- • Keep a learning journal throughout your module studies
- • Answer a series of ‘short answer’ questions
- • Answer two questions that either test your ability to interpret a verse of Scripture or that encourage you to research into the lives of key historical figures
- • Write one essay out of a choice of three titles
Your assignments should be collated into a small folder and then submitted to the Open Bible Institute offices. There are set deadlines for submission each term – deadlines are listed on the OBI website dates page.
Download your coursework coversheet to use when submitting your assignments.
The marking scheme will be the same as it is for the exams, that is:
- • under 50% fail
- • 50 - 64% pass
- • 65 - 74% credit
- • 75 - 84% distinction
- • over 85% high distinction
